synopsis
This book is a tale or a fable, a story like those we tell at night by the light of a small lamp before the other person falls asleep; that we tell one evening and then again the next, and again every evening, each time a little differently, leaving gaps for the next time.
It tells of children and animals, of undergrowth and clearings, and perhaps a monster. It contains metamorphoses, ambivalences, and unspoken things; shadows and lights without which there would be no images or room to imagine all that is not shown.
