synopsis
What is the nature of the UFO phenomenon? Are we dealing with a commercially profitable story, an illusion and its social consequences, a religious myth or even a physical phenomenon? Through an investigative trip to the states of Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona, Sara Galbiati, Peter Helles Eriksen and Tobias Selnæs Markussen document this alternative religion and examine humans' need for belief. The book attempts to interpret modern man's eternal quest for substance and his terror in the face of meaninglessness.

about the collective
The collective behind Phenomena is made up of Sara Galbiati, Peter Helles Eriksen and Tobias Selnaes Markussen. All three trained in photojournalism at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. In 2012, they created the creative community Kompleks. They also work independently on numerous projects or missions for a wide range of major media outlets. With the Phenomena project, the collective has developed a conceptual, subjective and playful approach to documentary. A conviction underlies all their work: the romantic ego of the photographer must be challenged and dissolved. In recent years they have been widely published and exhibited in Denmark, Europe and Asia. Individually, they have also received numerous awards, including the Picture of the Year in Denmark, and the POYi award.
