about Dolorès Marat
Born in 1944 in Paris, France. Lives and works in Provence, France.
First a seamstress, then trained by a local photographer, Dolorès Marat worked as a laboratory assistant at Vos Beauté magazine until 1995. At the age of 39 she began working as an independent photographer. In addition to her personal work, she carries out commissions for Hermès, J.M. Weston, Leica, and for the daily press such as Libération, Le Monde, Les Inrockuptibles, etc.
Since 2019, she has been represented in France and the United States by Louis’ Dimension Gallery. Dolorès Marat has published numerous monographs. In 2023, this “great lady of photography” will enter the historic Photo Poche collection published by Actes Sud.
